Jez Broun is a self taught guitarist. As a teenager he was banned from playing the guitar by his father - a grammar school music teacher who considered the guitar a lazy instrument. He learned to play the cello instead and took up the guitar later in life and got to jam with legendary guitarists such as the late Gypie Mayo (ex lead guitarist of the Yardbirds* and Doctor Feelgood), Johhny Hepbir (gypsy jazz) and rising star Chris Nesbitt who has played with Tommy Emanuel! Yes, name dropping! He has made over 20 guitars, some of them innovative and two that he currently performs with. In 2019 he published a hardback book called Guitar Making Art.
*Yarbirds guitarists include Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.

Jez Broun will be playing with Jim Cook (saxophone) at The Bath International Music Festival 'Party in the city' event at Vino Vino wine bar on Friday 17th May (7-8pm) and with his band Jezzfusion at 8pm till closing time.
