Jeremy Broun: "Small is Beautiful" at Harrogate 2026

The main feature of my stand will be The JB Routing Bench: This integrates my novel (1989) pendulum router jig and the new JB OmniFRAMEjig. Everything has been designed to fit into the boot of my Mini Cooper Coupe SD car that will freight all my gear to the Harrogate show! That is the aim!

As I have not demonstrated at a woodworking show for over 30 years and I am honoured to be invited, my core plan with some flexibility) is as follows:

-
For Beginners: I will demonstrate basic hand-tool techniques and aspects from my unique and radical Design and Make in Wood course.
-
Routing Pioneer Techniques: Demonstrating the "JB OmniFRAMEjig" for creating frame joints, my Pendulum Routiging Jig" and the "Fast Plunge" routing method—a unique technique for mastering speed and cutting efficiency.
-
Guitar performance I will be playing the guitar that beginners can easily build from low cost materials and my inventive jigs.
-
Mini lectures around 10 minutes long and aimed to be challenging and disruptive, such as:
-
'Nobody was afraid of routers before softstart'
-
'Which three tools would I take my desert island?'
-
'Why I never use a ruler'
-
The trick you may have been missing
-
Daily timber challenge Each day, I award a signed copy of one of my books to the visior who identifies the greatest number of timber species from the samples displayed. No cheating please!
