The Alan Peters Furniture Award

Celebrating the legacy of one of the greatest British furniture designer makers of the late 20th Century - Alan Peters OBE.

The award offers three prizes worth £1,000, £500 and £300 and costs just £20 to enter (max 2 entries). It is open to any resident citizen of the British Isles over 18 who has a flair and passion for woodworking and design.

'Excellence without Elitism' 

The Alan Peters Furniture Award is open to any resident citizen of The British Isles who is over 18 and shows a passion and flair for woodworking and design (domestic and outdoor furniture).  The award is organized by Jeremy Broun who exhibited with the late Alan Peters from the late 1970s to the turn of the century, becoming a professional friend. The award resides here on the Jeremy Broun website.

If sponsors cannot be found for 1st and 2nd prizes the award will still go ahead.

Winners are not assigned  automatically - the high standard of craftsmanship and design has to be maintained.

The award was previously called The Alan Peters Award For Excellence  and the prize was to exhibit at the Cheltenham Celebration of Craftsmanship and Design

exhibitions alongside leaders in the field

Award applicants should familiarise themselves with the furniture of Alan Peters by reading the 64 page video integrated ebook by Jeremy Broun. It includes tributes from leading British makers.

The free version is intended for British apppicants of the award only.
