Highlights
Flavour of the Seventies 1978. Alan Peters invited Jeremy Broun to exhibit alongside himself, John Makepeace, George Sneed and Richard La Trobe Bateman at Southampton Civic Centre.
Churchill Travel Scholarship1979. Jeremy Broun visited major furniture factories, galleries and workshops in Finland, Sweden and Italy - the single most confidence boosting event early in his furniture making journey - to continue with his forward looking ideas and ethos.
Sotheby's First Sale of Contemporary British Crafts 1980. Jeremy Broun was invited by the UK Crafts Council alongside Alan Peters, John Makepeace, Ashley Cartwight, Desmond Ryan, Martin Grierson and Rupert Williamson.
Royal Family Viewing 1985. A disappointing highlight because 2 pieces of Jeremy Broun's furniture were selected amongst 10 from the UK for a Royal Family private viewing. Rather than Prince Charles following historical royal patronage, he demonstrated his disconnect at the very zenith of public interest in modern craft furniture by using a traditional interior designer.
After the Storm 1991. Five British makers were given trees blown down at Kew Gardens in the Great Storm of 1987. John Makepeace, Fred Baier, Rupert Williamson, Jeremy Broun and Richard
La Trobe Bateman made pieces for an exhibition at Kew Gardens in 1991.
Design Museum lecture 1996. Jeremy Broun was invited to give a lecture called "Exploring the differences between craft and mass-produced furniture.
Woodo International conference
Finland 1997. Jeremy Broun was invited
to teach some of Finland's most talented students at the Mynamaki college and to speak and exhibit his work at the Ars Nova Museum in Turku.
Published books Jeremy Broun was invited to write several woodworking books by major publishers since 1989 and more recently has self-published some hard back books with links to online content.
British Accreditation Council 2009.
Jeremy Broun was invited to become an inspector for The British Accreditation Council for Independent Higher Education.
The Alan Peters Furniture Award Since 2018 . Jeremy Broun has been organizer and a judge for this prestigious bi-annual award celebrating the legacy of one of the greatest British furniture designer makers of the 20th century.
